Fleck Residential Control Valves

Manufactured in Wisconsin by Pentair, Fleck Residential control valves offer a full line of options. They are used in residential water softeners, filters, and various other applications. The residential valve bodies are mostly made of Noryl. The 5600 residential control valve has long been the standard in residential water treatment. As advancements are being made in control valves, more options and electronics are becoming available. Fleck also offers Autotrol residential valves, which use valve disc technology.

Fleck 2510 Residential Valve

The Fleck 2510 residential control valve is a 3/4 inch valve with a 3/4 inch inlet and outlet as well as a 1.05 inch O.D. distributor pilot.  Typically, the 2510 valve is used on 6 inch to 16 inch diameter tanks for water softeners and 8 inch to 16 inch diameter thanks for filters.    The valve has a Cv of 4.8 GPM and can backwash up to 17 GPM.  The Cv of a valve is the flow rate at a 1 psi drop.  This is important as knowing the Cv of a valve allows engineers to calculate the pressure loss at any given flow rate.  The weight of just the valve is approximately 10 pounds with a working pressure range of 20 to 125 psi.  Operating temperatures range from 34 degrees to 110 degrees Fahrenheit.  The Fleck 2510 residential valve comes in electro-mechanical, SXT, and XT timers.  The valve has fully adjustable regeneration cycles and is offered in down flow only.  When the valve is used for a water softener application, a 1600 brine valve is used.

Fleck Residential Electronic Valve Controls

Fleck residential valves have a variety of options for controls. The various models of controllers are electro-mechanical, LXT, SXT, XT, and XTR. The controller can allow for diagnostics such as flow rate, peak flow rate, totalizer, hours between last two regenerations, hours since last regeneration, adjustable volume remaining, and valve position.

The other control type is electro-mechanical.  Electro-mechanical controllers can be either time clock or metered.  Some of the electro-mechanical residential controllers have pins in the back of a wheel that can be adjusted to control regeneration cycles in two minute intervals.  The electro-mechanical controller is not as versatile as the electronic controllers but has been a very reliable controller.
