Fleck Commercial Valves

Fleck valves are manufactured by Pentair out of Brookfield, Wisconsin. They are used in commercial water softeners, filters, and various other applications. The commercial valve bodies are made of lead- free brass and are either top mounted or side mounted. Fleck manufacturers residential valves as well. Even though they are more limited in scope than a commercial valve, the residential valves have versatility as well. The residential valve bodies are made of Noryl as lead free brass is uneconomical for the average residential application.
Fleck commercial valves have been the standard valve in the water treatment industry for many years. The valves come in pipe sizes of 1 inch, 1.5 inch, 2 inch, and 3 inch inlet and outlets. They have the ability to operate on many different sizes of pressure vessel and can backwash up to a 63 inch diameter water softener. The valves can be configured to operate as a single unit or multiple units, which make the commercial Fleck valves very versatile and can be used in almost any application.

Fleck 3900 Commercial Valve

Fleck 3900 Commercial Valve

The Fleck 3900 commercial valve is a true 3 inch valve, with a 3 inch inlet and outlet as well as a 3 inch distributor pilot. Typically, the 3900 valve is used on 30 inch diameter commercial water softeners and above up to 63 inch diameter. The 3900 commercial valve has the ability to be top mounted or side mounted depending on the requirements of the application. The valve has a Cv of 65 GPM and can backwash up to 100 GPM. The Cv of a valve is the flow rate at a 1 psi drop. This is important as knowing the Cv of a valve allows engineers to calculate the pressure loss at any given flow rate. The weight of just the valve is approximately 93 pounds with a working pressure range of 20 to 125 psi. Operating temperatures range from 34 degrees to 110 degrees Fahrenheit. When the 3900 valve is used for a water softener application, an 1800 brine valve is used.

Fleck 3150 Commercial Valve

Fleck 3150 Commercial Valve

The Fleck 3150 commercial valve is a true 2 inch valve, with a 2 inch inlet and outlet as well as a 2 inch distributor pilot. Typically, the 3150 valve is used on 30 inch diameter water softeners and above up to 63 inch diameter. The 3150 commercial valve has the ability to be top mounted or side mounted depending on the requirements of the application. The valve has a Cv of 24.8 GPM when top mounted and can backwash up to 105 GPM. The weight of just the valve is approximately 39 pounds with a working pressure range of 20 to 125 psi. Operating temperatures range from 34 degrees to 110 degrees Fahrenheit. When the 3150 valve is used for a water softener application a 1600, 1650, 1700, or 1710 brine valve is used.

Fleck 2900 Commercial Valve

Fleck 2900 Commercial Valve

The Fleck 2900 commercial valve is a 2 inch valve, with a 2 inch inlet and outlet as well as a 1.5 inch distributor pilot. Typically, the 2900 valve is used on 14 inch diameter to 36 inch diameter pressure vessels. The 2900 commercial valve has the ability to be top mounted or side mounted depending on the requirements of the application. The valve has a Cv of 27.5 GPM and can backwash up to 36 GPM. The weight of just the valve is approximately 33 pounds with a working pressure range of 20 to 125 psi. Operating temperatures range from 34 degrees to 110 degrees Fahrenheit. When the 2900 valve is used for a water softener application a 1600, 1650, 1700, or 1710 brine valve is used.

Fleck 2850 Commercial Valve

Fleck 2850 Commercial Valve

The Fleck 2850 commercial valve is a 1.5 inch valve, with a 1.5 inch inlet and outlet as well as a 1.5 inch distributor pilot. Typically, the 2850 valve is used on 10 inch diameter to 36 inch diameter pressure vessels. The 2850 commercial valve has the ability to be top mounted or side mounted depending on the requirements of the application. The valve has a Cv of 13.2 GPM and can backwash up to 49 GPM. The weight of just the valve is approximately 19 pounds with a working pressure range of 20 to 125 psi. Operating temperatures range from 34 degrees to 110 degrees Fahrenheit. When the 2850 valve is used for a water softener application a 1600, 1650, or 1700 brine valve is used.

Fleck 2750 Commercial Valve

Fleck 2750 Commercial Valve

The Fleck 2750 commercial valve is a 1 inch valve, with a 1 inch inlet and outlet as well as a 1 inch distributor pilot. Typically, the 2750 valve is used on 10 inch diameter to 24 inch diameter pressure vessels. The 2750 commercial valve is top mounted or side mounted depending on the requirements of the application. The valve has a Cv of 6.8 GPM and can backwash up to 25 GPM. The weight of just the valve is approximately 13 pounds with a working pressure range of 20 to 125 psi. Operating temperatures range from 34 degrees to 110 degrees Fahrenheit. When the 2750 valve is used for a water softener application a 1600, 1650, or 1700 brine valve is used.

Commercial Valve Controls

Fleck Commercial Valve Control NXT

Fleck commercial valves have a variety of options for controls. The NXT controller consists of a digital display that can be programmed to operate as a time clock, meter immediate, or meter delayed valve. It allows for interlock Cat 5 connections which are used on a multiple unit configuration to prevent more than one unit regenerating simultaneously. The controller also allows for diagnostics such as flow rate, peak flow rate, totalizer, hours between last two regenerations, hours since last regeneration, adjustable volume remaining, and valve position.

Fleck Electro-Mechanical Controller

The other control type is electro-mechanical. Electro-mechanical controllers can be either time clock or metered. The controller has pins in the back of a wheel that can be adjusted to control regeneration cycles in two minute intervals. The electro-mechanical controller is not as versatile as the NXT controller but has been a very reliable controller.
